The Commute Greener Facebook application has had a total makeover. Besides a complete new look and feel, the usage increases engagement with “gamification” innovations.
The idea is to collect points and badges by making improvements in your commuting behaviour and to compete with your friends to be a Top Performer: Bicycle Hero, Public Star or why not the overall winner of the Leaderboard?
Take the opportunity to test it! The app runs best with iPhone, Android, Firefox, IE9.
Besides personal benefits, part of the business case is to increase the value for companies, organisations or cities to have their own badges. A badge is an acknowledgement for an improvement made, for example you can get the "Two star level in bicycling".
Examples of badges that may be awarded are a newspaper like The Guardian, the city of Berlin and the WWF for specific improvements such as earning 75 points within one week by taking the bus to work. We are sure that features like this contributes on our journey towards sustainable transport solutions.
The Commute Greener Facebook app is pioneering several areas of urban mobility and use HTML5 to make it possible to run on iPhone, Android, Firefox, IE9 etc without expensive adaptions and maintenance. Commute Greener is run in a cloud environment together with Pocketweb and developments according to open innovation practices. The aim of Commute Greener is to help cities as well as companies and individuals around the world to reduce congestion, save time and money, improve health and contribute to more quality of life.
