Today, Volvo IT will be participating on a panel at a LinkedIn-hosted event in Stockholm, Sweden. Showcased as a best practice example in the Nordic region, Volvo IT is currently using LinkedIn to assist with global recruitment and employer branding efforts.

A new web and mobile service function, Commute Greener, now provides information on others in your area who travel the same route. In addition, the application can also send a ride share request to allow you to quickly make other travel arrangements. The service can also help find cycling buddies or the times of the best bus service.

The “CO2 calculator” Commute Greener has been elected as one of ten finalists to receive the CIO Awards in Sweden, arranged by the CIO Sweden magazine.

Volvo IT has received the assignment to develop and implement an SAP ERP system for Getrag at the plant in Köping, Sweden. The delivery also includes Application Management and Operations.

Through a donation activity carried out during August, Volvo IT staff in China helps children in the Volvo Group China charity project Hope School.
