AB Volvo’s subsidiary Volvo IT has signed a new agreement with Ford-owned Volvo Car Corporation to provide consultancy services. The new agreement comes into effect from 1 January 2006.

Volvo IT is the official supplier of IT to the Volvo Ocean Race, which gets under way in November. For Mattias Andersson and Martin Stockbridge, this means working with IT at race stop-overs all over the world – far away from the office and family.

AB Volvo’s subsidiary Volvo IT has taken over responsibility for the Skandia insurance company’s mainframe computers. The agreement will run for three years and covers IT operation, technical support, data storage, system monitoring and data communication.

Volvo IT has signed agreements with YIT Building System’s Swedish and Norwegian companies. The agreements cover system operations of the business system used for accounting as well as project-related planning and financial management.

Volvo IT is helping the City of Göteborg to raise its security levels in IT operations. The order was placed by ADB-kontoret, the local government unit responsible for IT and operational development for municipal companies and local government services.

Volvo IT comes out on top when IT students at Swedish universities and colleges name their preferred employers. This is according to FöretagsBarometern, which is a survey conducted by the research and consulting firm, Universum Communications.

Volvo IT has signed new consultancy agreements with Volvo Car Corporation in Göteborg for 2004-2005.

Volvo IT has for the first time signed a general agreement directly with the Ford Motor Company.

Volvo IT and Martinsson Informationssystem have signed an agreement to set up a new and competitive alternative for medium-sized companies looking to outsource IT operations.
